 2008-11-25 - Magnificent, Romantic, Sounds stupid but amazing! TWO THUMBS UP!
Wow. This book is by far my favorite book along with the rest of the series. Edward Cullen: Perfect, glorious guy who all girls will fall head over heels for. Stephanie Meyer really made all girls and women imagine him and get a great description. The book itself is so great and you can't put it down. My sister read it first and she would not get over it. I thought she was dumb because the book sounded dumb. I mean, vampires? Love? I thought it was just another one of those books. One day i was bored, I picked it up, and read a couple pages. I couldn't put it down for the next 7 hours. I read till 12 AM and finally finished the last couple pages the next morning. The book itself makes you believe it is real. I don't see why people would not like this action filled romantic book.

Well, I had a pleasent surprise with this book. Being a 20 something male I wasn't sure if this book would be something that I would enjoy. Well it sure did prove me wrong. I wasn't sure what to expect at first when i began but once I started I could not put this book down. Yes, it is not the best written book in the world. There are a lot of other books out there that are better written, and yes the characters are not the most developed, that really happens in the later books but not to a great degree.
This book is so Wonderful because of the simple fact that the writer knows how to, and uses it very well, hook the reader. The plot of this book just draws you in, it makes you want to keep reading. It is by far one of the most compelling storylines I have read in a while. Its not over the top but she leaves out just enough information to make you want to keep going.

THis book is a must have - gotta read - book. For all parents - this book is a very nice romantic fantasy. I've read the series and bought the 4 books for my 11 year old. She is swept away and has read them over and over again.
For all Christians - this is more a love story than a saga about vampires. I think kids get way too much sexuality and violence just by watching TV (even Disney) compared to this book and series.

All the the reviewers so far have trashed it! Fine, it's not your thing! You don't like vampires, whatever! Got a problem with love? Don't read it. But the bottom like is this; it's a very well-written vampire love story that appeals to readers of all ages and genders. You don't have to like it; nobody's shoving it in your face demanding you to worship it (well, if you have a teenage daughter, maybe they are). But there's a reason so many people like it! It's simply a good story! It'll entertain you, and that's really all it's meant to do. There's no underlying, hidden messages in the book (Stephenie Meyer said so herself) and it's not supposed to be your bible (though for some people, it is...). I personally loved it, my mom loved it, my friends all love it, my goodness, my dad even liked the movie!
And by the way, I'm a 14 girl. Does this make a difference? I don't really think so. My mom's in her 40's and she loves the books almost as much as me. And, like I said, my dad really like the movie (he doesn't read often. Or at all...this is his account, if you haven't noticed).
So if you're looking for a good love story with a little fantasy and drama in it that is also quick read (even though it's over 400 pages, it goes by in a flash) then this is probably the book for you. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
