 2008-10-28 - NEVER RECEIVED THE PRODUCT
I wish I could write a review of this product, unfortunately never received it and thus cannot review it neither. This is the very first time I have this problem with Amazon.

This book is an awesome resource to understand Project Management and pass the PMP exam. Well worth the money.
 2008-10-14 - Excellent Methods for Preparing for the Exam
Rita's book helped me prepare for, and pass, the exam by getting me into the mindset of the types of questions I would face on the exam. The book also goes well beyond what you would cover solely with the PMBOK and provides useful exercises to force you to understand the material. There are also dozens of useful 'nuggets' in the book that, not surprisingly, popped up on the exam for which I was prepared.
As has been noted by other reviews, the tone of the book can often be a little caustic and derogatory but I believe that that is the author's teaching style and it can be effective most times. However, reading the book more than once makes the style less abrasive ...
Overall, an excellent guide to getting ready and passing the exam on the first try.
 2008-10-09 - not good for preparing for PMP exam, try something else
this book is very confusing and hard to understand. It is written from a scientific point of view. I used an exam simulation program at pmsimulation.com and passed the PMP exam. This worked so much better than studying from a book.
2008-10-08 - Buy this but also get Head First PMP: A Brain-Friendly Guide
Rita does a great job with this book. But it is apparent she is not a teacher. Her many arrogant statements will have you putting the book down for a while, so you can cool off and then get back to trying to learn the material.
Her exam samples are great, but her explanations leave you wondering where the logic came from.
Buy this but also get Head First PMP: A Brain-Friendly Guide to Passing the Project Management Professional Exam (Head First). Head First is a much better teaching guide an facilitates the learning process much better.
